Due to the nature of vintage china, there may be signs of fading such as wear of the gilt edging, but there will be no chips or cracks in any of the china or glassware. Please check all items against the inventory of your order on receipt. Notify us and take photos of any damage before use. If no damage is reported, the goods will be deemed to have been delivered in good condition.

Unfortunately, accidents sometimes happen and you are liable for any lost, damaged (e.g chipped or cracked) or broken items.  If part of a set is lost or damaged (e.g. the saucer part of a trio or a tier of a cake stand), you are liable for the replacement cost of the whole trio or cake stand.

No repairs or substitutes will be accepted. You will be liable for the full replacement cost and delivery of the replacement item to the Vintage Teacup Queen®.

Wash Up and Care

Vintage bone china is very fragile and many items are irreplaceable, so they require special care.

1. Important: Please warm the teapots with a little hot (not boiling) water before filling them with boiling water as filling a cold teapot with boiling water can cause it to crack.

2. Do not place any items in a microwave, oven, dishwasher or freezer.

3. Do not wash up!

Most damage occurs at the sink, so rather leave us to be responsible for washing up.
Our prices include washing so you can simply empty or wipe the items, repack them carefully in the original packaging and return them to us to wash.

Please ensure that all linen is dry and clean before being packed away. If left damp they are susceptible to mildew. Any damage caused by mildew, cigarettes, candle wax, or heaving staining will be charged at replacement costs. Any linen having to be soaked or specially treated to remove stains, or requiring more than a standard wash will incur an additional laundering charge. Permanent damage will incur replacement costs.
